Summary: This article reports that New Jersey and Illinois have now mandated the teaching of an LGBTQIA Curriculum in the public schools.  Schools are seeking resources and looking at curriculum gaps in order to meet this mandate.

1 in 4 Students Is Bullied, But There’s More To It

Summary:  GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, recently updated its 2005 “From Teasing to Torment” report, providing a renewed look at biased-based bullying 10 years later. More than 1,300 students ages 13 to 18 completed surveys, detailing their exposure to bullying and biased remarks based on race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, body size, gender, religion, ability, economic status and gender expression.

Gay and Lesbian High School Students Report ‘Heartbreaking’ Levels of Violence
