Summary: In partnership with educational leaders in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania participating in the “Collaborating States Initiative”, CASEL has published five new resources to guide state leaders and educators in integrating social and emotional learning (SEL) with classroom instruction.

CASEL recommends that schools use evidence-based programs to build a comprehensive foundation for SEL. Beyond that, these five resources help educators integrate SEL into teaching practice in elementary English Language ARts, high school English Language Arts, elementary Mathematics, middle school Social Studies, and general strategies that may be used across all subject areas to support the five SEL core competencies (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
